MK supports National Apprenticeships Week 2022
MK supports National Apprenticeships Week 2022 at local school
MK Test Systems were pleased to support local school Court Fields in Wellington, Somerset during National Apprenticeships Week 2022 recently.
The company visited the school near the Wellington headquarters to deliver a presentation to year 9 students and offer advice on apprenticeships during a one-to-one Q&A session.
Software Apprentice Hayden Sinclair and Electronics Design Engineer Yassin Rostom represented MK Test Systems at the event, supported by Marketing Manager Sally Antilles.
Charity Hunt, Careers Advisor at Court Fields School organised the event and approached MK to ask for support. She explained, “Hayden and Yassin came across as extremely approachable, enthusiastic and happy to share their knowledge of the sector and educational journeys.”
Yassin added “It’s been a great thing to be a part of. I would advise younger generations to explore their interests – it’s about finding out what you’re going to enjoy doing every day. Hopefully we’ve helped the students understand that.”
MK Test currently employ two apprentices and are offering further opportunities later this year. In addition to supporting the Court Fields school, MK’s two apprentices undertook a ‘social media takeover’ of the company’s LinkedIn and Twitter accounts for the week. Hayden and William Mackenzie, Apprentice Production Technician, have published a series of posts sharing their views and experiences of being an apprentice at MK Test.
Carl Bullock, Managing Director of MK Test Systems commented “As a business we’re delighted to be able to open up career opportunities for young local people. The event at Court Fields will hopefully be the first of many that we support in and around Wellington, whether that’s specifically related to STEM and education or for the wider community.”
